Assembly line
- Rotating sash table
- Hardware assembly table for sashes
- Tilting work table for frames
- Mobile intermediate buffer
- Inspection and glazing press
- Outfeed roller conveyor
At our client Monument, we installed a new assembly line for wooden frames and sashes.
The sash line is equipped with a rotating table for inserting gaskets into the sashes. Thanks to the rotation function, the operator remains in a fixed position while the table rotates during gasket insertion. The table is extendable to match sash dimensions and is also mobile thanks to braked wheels.
After gasket insertion, hardware is assembled onto the sashes. For this purpose, a hardware assembly table was installed with a centering system to determine hardware length. The hardware is cut to length using a hardware press. The different hardware components are stored in an organized hardware magazine above the workstation.
The frame line starts with a vertical roller conveyor and an integrated assembly table. This table is movable on rails. After vertical transfer of the frame, the table is removed from the conveyor. It is then pneumatically tilted so the operator can fully finish the frame with gaskets and hardware. The table is equipped with four movable and extendable support beams, adjustable according to element dimensions. After assembly, the table is tilted back to vertical position and reinserted into the vertical conveyor. The element can then be easily moved by a single operator to the next workstation.
Between the assembly table and the glazing and control press, a mobile intermediate buffer was installed to absorb differences in cycle times. The buffer consists of a structure with five vertical roller conveyors, movable on two braked rails.
The glazing and control press is equipped with two automatically foldable and movable clamping beams. This allows elements to be easily transferred to the outfeed roller conveyor. After clamping, the station can be pneumatically tilted to 90° for ergonomic insertion of the sash(es). The operator can then open and close the sash for full functional testing. If required, glazing can also be performed at this station.
At the end of the line, an outfeed roller conveyor was installed. From this position, elements can be transported to a transport cart or placed onto a window block using a loading bridge.
